Julie Wilson is an experienced marketing professional with over 20 years experience. Having worked for Boots for over 17 years, Julie gained experience in all aspects of the marketing mix from point of sale, advertising, direct mail, and web design through to PR, direct mail, advertorials and even lorry branding!
She then worked for a small publishing company in the education sector and this gave her much more of an opportunity to find creative ways to maximize low budgets and realize the potential of PR, reciprocal deals and email marketing to mention a few. In early 2008, Julie decided to take her 20 plus years of marketing experience and offer her services to other local companies and SMEs.
Unlike a consultant who offers advice or guidance, she is able to provide a hands-on service and the flexibility for 'task specific' help. What’s more clients only pay for marketing when they need it and don’t have to hire a new employee or an agency.
Julie’s freelance marketing services can accelerate the rate at which businesses grow but keep marketing cost in check. Julie will look at your market, provide a workable plan and, if required will also help implement it.
How I work
I understand that every penny has to count and so before I embark on any marketing project, I take time to listen to the issues your business may be facing and talk with you first to fully understand your needs and consider all the opportunities available.
Then, I either pull together ideas for you to implement, or put together a workable plan that I deliver for you. This can be flexed on an ongoing basis as the market develops and needs change.
When I present my plans they always provide a range of options, each of which is costed separately so you can select the ideas you prefer that are within the budget available.
Alternatively, like many of my clients, you may prefer to work with me on an ongoing basis, agreeing a number of days each month to work on PR and marketing for your product / brand. I then allocate activity to specific months so that everyone is clear on the approach and timings. This works well as in reality I am working for you on an ongoing basis and promote your products and services at all opportunities, as well as the specific projects agreed in the plan.
My daily fee is £250 plus any expenses incurred, and for clients whom I work with on an ongoing basis, I reduce this fee in return for a longer term commitment. My fees include regular updates of all activity and I talk frequently via the phone and internet to discuss new opportunities as they arise, and to ensure that I am always delivering the best for you.

Further workshops are planned for November 2009 and throughout 2010.
